Martin failed to inform me that they don't ship to a Post Office Box even though it is quite obvious they tried to send mine there. After almost two weeks and no delivery yet, I called and was told, 'We don't ship to P.O.
Box' until they looked back at the shipment and tracking number. At this point, they are not willing to make any payment adjustments. I was also told it would be another four days before anyone would be available to discuss the situation.
I always thought Martin to be a customer-driven business. We will see.
Preferred solution: Not sure entirely

Verified Reviewer | Noblesville, IndianaTechnical problems with the titanium guitar strings.
Do lady that? I talk to Martin set that I would have to call the company.
I bought them from. I told her I had already done that, Then proceeded to tell me that I would have to contact them again.
So I guess the martin acoustic titanium strings Are WORTHLESS In more than One Way. Thanks James Duncan

Im not mad just disappointed about the guitar. The factory gave me a dealer to take my guitar to and they could evaluate whether it needed to come back to Pa.

Verified ReviewerBinding lifting on 2017 d18
I have a 2017 d18 amber tone that the binding is bulling off on both sides of the waist. I am religious about maintaining proper humidity levels.
I went on several Martin owner sites and it seems that this is a chronic problem with these guitars.
This is a factory defect that should not happen on a $2800 guitar. What does Martin do about this?
- Excellent tone
- Shoddy craftsmanship
Preferred solution: Repair
Determining my guitars value
when I contacted Martin Customer Service, they referred me to a guitar blue book site, which charges a fee to evaluate. Martin told me that they do not evaluate used guitars.

Ordered from the 1833 shop online and they sent me a package of picks that was supposed to have 12 picks but only had 4. I've emailed and called but haven't gotten even the hint of an appropriate response. I own a martin guitar but I don't think I would buy again knowing how poorly they respond to even minor problems.
- Love the guitar
- Hate how outdated and unresponsive they are
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer | Upper Nazareth, PennsylvaniaCustomer service and order confirmation
I believe martins made some of the best guitars in the world, theyve been doing it since 1833.
Unfortunately their customer service, phone system and
Integrity died In 1833 as well.
Their antiquated web site , rude dont give s%-+ attitude of a rep if your lucky enough to get one is unbelievable in this day and age.
I was going to purchase another high end Martin, but will not even consider it.
Other companies are producing better guitars for half the price and any luthier with a love of craftsmanship can make a guitar far superior. To any specs you want!
I will never buy another MARTIN again!
- Absolutely no customer servic
- Not well made anymore
- Overpriced
User's recommendation: Don’t waste your time on a Martin guitar.
Warranty question
I am not pissed. I just needed some information and I got it very satisfactorily and complete. Thank you Martin.
Guitar is cracked
would just like to talk to customer service to see how much it would cost to get that cracked on my d28 martin sunburst
Binding pulling loose from one of their top of the line guitars a 000 42
I bought a Martin 000 42 guitar in 2012. I now live in Bangkok but was in Dallas when purchased.
I'd noticed the loosening binding was getting worse so I took it to one of the best luthiers in town. It was better for a little while but is now even worse. I called their Customer Service. They were between bored and rude.
I'd read they'd had glue problems between 2012 and 2014. The binding was first reglued in 2018. Was taking it to the States to have it done again. But JAL screwed up my flight plans so I'll have to find a luthier in Bangkok.
What really torqued me was their reply that they had had problems that had been resolved. Resolved? Problem started in 2012 for them and by 2019 still hadn't been taken care of ? That just pissed me off.
I told the dude that for years Martin was considered America's guitar. Not anymore, I told him. Said Taylor had caught and surpassed them in quality, innovation and were also cheaper. And Collings and Santa Cruz.
They make Martins look like Daisy Rock guitars. He said nothing. He was either at a loss of words or knew I was right. I'll never buy a Martin product again.
Not even strings. One thing he mentioned was the Bangkok weather, like I leave them out in the sun or don't dehumidify them. And I certainly don't busk in the streets. Don't even leave my apartment with them.
And if I told him I lived in Houston or Bangkok he'd never have popped off like that. And I lived in Houston for several years and know how similar the climates are.
If you're looking for a guitar with a quality name at a reasonable price get a Taylor. Their travel guitars are also far superior to Martin's.
Preferred solution: I just wanted to get this off my chest. I expect nothing from these people and if I did I wouldn't get it. One more thing: *** Martin.
User's recommendation: Don't buy a Martin guitar.

Verified Reviewer | Clifton, New JerseyNot a good Guitar
I purchased a DX2 Martin thinking that the name would stand for quality workmanship. After I got it home and played for a few days, after the store would let me return it, I started to notice the poor quality compared to cheaper guitars I have purchased.
I noticed the guitar nut was off center, the frets were sharp at the ends, there was glue trails on the fret board and the guitar goes out of tune quickly. Also, a light tap of where the neck meets the guitar body can change the sound of the guitar, which doesn't sound good.
Closest certified repair shop is a 1.5 hour drive one way. The place I bought it doesn't service them and sadly could care less.
All in all, not what I expected from Martin.
Preferred solution: Trade in at full value
User's recommendation: Don't buy on name and make sure you have a long trial period.
